Holidays are over and it's now time to clean up your digestive system, here is some information to get you started…
Your digestive system is where vitamins, nutrients and minerals are absorbed into the body. Poor diet choices, stress and lack of sleep can lead to an imbalance of bacteria in your digestive tract. These imbalances can cause all sorts of problems, from heartburn, cramps, indigestion, constipation …just to name a few. Eating fibrous foods will help to maintain good digestive health and having probiotics will maintain the “good” bacteria in your digestive tract.
High fiber foods such as fruit, vegetables and whole grains can all help keeping you regular as well as making you feel fuller for longer. Eating slowly and listening to your body can help to prevent over eating which can lead to bloating and indigestion - smaller portions can also help! Getting up for that second helping can give your body enough time to send the signals to you that you are full and no longer need the extra food.
