Artisan Food Co. was created in 2013, from an idea that sprouted as a deep passion for good food and grew in the heart of one Chef. The idea behind creating this brand was to grow with this passion; to inspire people to look to food as a complementary aspect towards healthy and balanced living. The initiative was to create a safe environment and one that would inspire not only its team members but its patrons alike, in their everyday or periodic encounters with us. Over the past four and a half years we have certainly grown in our intentions and ideas. In that time we have earned many faithful comrades follow us and cheer us on as we grew into the business we are now.
Artisan Food Co. is a brand that should continue on, but a time has come for the original creator to pass on her torch to the next person who has that deep passion for working with food and creating inspiring dishes that nourish the body, mind and soul; food that not only looks good but feels good too. As Tanya’s life has shifted dramatically over the course of the past year, after a pregnancy complication, she is now inspired to move in a different direction that focuses more attentively on the special needs and requirements of her one year old twins. This fork in the road, that has called her in a new direction, will give her the opportunity to further her studies in another area of passion and spend much desired time with her twins. Although her passion for food will never leave her, it is time for Artisan Food Co. to be taken to the next level by a fresh entrepreneur with the just the right spark.
After planting roots in Callander, and working from that location for 3 years, Artisan Food Co. made the decision to uproot the business, which consisted of both the café and catering businesses. The decision was made to move into downtown North Bay, where we have been located this past year, and where a wider audience could be reached with the various food services offered by Artisan Food Co. There is no denying that moving to the corner of Oak and Ferguson in the heart of downtown was the best choice for growing the business further; and the view of Lake Nipissing from our new giant picture windows didn’t hurt either.
As a turnkey opportunity Artisan Food Co. is now available for someone to stand on its shoulders. The restaurant is a 32 seat, café-style restaurant which serves lunch, Monday to Friday and during market season, Saturdays as well. In addition, Artisan Food Co. is the creator of the unique ‘Full Moon dinners’ which are held every month. The dinners are a multi-course, Chef’s menu dinner with changing themes inspired by the changing seasons. Along with our Full Moon dinners we also offer specialty dinners for occasions such as: New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Holiday season buffets. Both on and off site we offer a wide range of catering services to various groups along with private in home and backyard events.
Beyond our current services Artisan Food Co. also offers additional opportunity for growth in various areas which can be discussed with the right person or persons who has that passion for food service and growth potential.
Artisan Food Co. is proud to say that over the course of its operations it has managed to attract some of the most talented and gifted ‘for-service’ team members out there, and our current house crew is no exception. They are truly the glue that holds the pieces together, and we don’t think you will find friendlier staff anywhere else.
So the sad truth is that although Tanya is sad to be moving in a different direction from the brand that she built and one she wholeheartedly stands by, Artisan Food Co. has become its own entity now, and she is proud to have been able to call it, not only her workplace but her second home. The desire now is to find the right fit in someone who has the drive and the passion to continue to grow the business into what it is destined to become. In ensuring a smooth transition Tanya is also offering her services, for a time, to transition that special someone into new ownership. This includes any help with the behind the scenes, ordering, paper work, payroll, menu planning, POS system, marketing and advertising as well as social media. Tanya will be available to be on hand, for a time, to assist with menu performance questions, insights, and will also offer services to train any potential new owner to ensure continued success. Training with recipes and menu production, which are the mainstay of the operation, will also be provided as necessary, as part of the transition.
As we go through this new phase we have not forgotten about our faithful patrons, and we would like to take this opportunity to express our fullest gratitude for the immense support and encouragement we continue to receive. Without you, our beloved guests, we would not be where we are today, and we just love that you love us, and we are so proud to be able to continue serving you into 2018.
